About The Photographer

    Outdoor landscape and architectural photographer, Ben Gatrelle has been making photographs since the mid eighties. Only recently has he begun to turn this long-time hobby into a professional pursuit. Most of his images are drawn from the nature and the scenery of his home state of South Carolina, and the unique historic architecture of his home town of Charleston and the surrounding communities. Now living in Nashville, Tennessee, many images of this region are making their way into the collection.

"I grew up in the area around Charleston, South Carolina, so most of my outdoor, landscape, and architectural photos are taken there and around the southeastern United States. In my art I strive for technical excellence and a unique creative vision of the world around me."     "Most of my artistic inspiration comes from the beauty of Nature and my love for the Creator. I believe Mankind to be inspired by the Creator God to appreciate beauty, to love, and to create. Therefore we can see beauty in things made by God, and things made by mankind, be it a sunset or a skyscraper. I see my artistic work as a way to inspire the pursuit of beauty in others. My hope is that in knowing and loving the beauty of creation, one can come to know the love of the Creator God, Jesus Christ."
